Have you ever experienced these situations in your facilitation?
• The group tried to be creative but kept neglecting some important data or experiences;
• The group jumped to conclusion and missed the unique characteristics of the matter;
• The group tended to discuss what they knew and spent less time talking about what they didn’t know;
• The group justified their past and underestimated the value of new explorations.

There may be many more kinds of situations you have experienced. These are commonly seen because they result from “cognitive bias” that we all have, and being aware of them is very critical to effectiveness of our facilitation. Being able to recognize them, you can deal with them.

In this session we are going to explore the various “cognitive biases”, their impact on facilitation, and how we can effectively respond with our facilitation. Welcome to join us in this exploration.
