D1：The Modified Delphi Facilitation Technique – A Case Study in successfully combining Delphi and group process facilitation to reach consensus within the scientific community.

Many in the facilitation community believe that the Delphi technique of decision-making is antiquated and does not lend itself to true consensus building. However, Delphi is a proven evidence-based technique that the scientific community is comfortable with and has confidence in.

This workshop will present a Modified Delphi technique, developed by Kimberly Bain in her work with researchers and clinicians in Canada, USA and Denmark. The technique combines the scientific Delphi method and a number of more traditional facilitated consensus building exercises to bring the group to a true and sustainable consensus. Participants will gain a new tool and learn from the case study experiences of the workshop leader.
