P102 (Sept .1-2):Introducing ICA Community Development with Transformative Scenario Planning (Sharing a Dynamic Change Process)
Presenter: Lawrence Philbrook, CPF; Evelyn Philbrook
IAF Core Competencies: A, B, C
Number of participants: 9-36
The Community Development Intensive is an introduction to the foundation of ICA’s Technology of Participation as used to promote community self-governance and participative-based decision making. The Institute of Cultural Affairs(ICA) developed its internationally known Technology of Participation in communities around the world as a way to help communities. Eventually ICA transferred and adapted the processes to promote self-organization and conscious leadership.
During 2016 ICA Taiwan with NCKU and the Goonguan Community have adapted ICA methods and Transformative Scenario Planning into a community engagement process. The basic principles of this engagement are similar to organization and community change in many situations. During the two days we will share through practice many of the methods, and experiences while introducing processes experientially the final design will be created based on the flow of work from March to August in Goonguan community.
